The following information tells the descriptions of each part of pump.
The actuator – The actuator is in the top part of the pump, and it's also what you push when you want to dispense whatever is inside the packaging. It's like a trigger, allowing the pump to operate. The pump has a locking mechanism so that the inside product won't be accidentally dispensed when shipping or travelling. Lotion pumps can be locked in either upward or downward way. Actuators are normally made from one kind of durable plastic- polypropylene (PP).
The closure – This is the part of the pump that screws on the bottle. Lotion pump closures are either sldined or smooth. A sldined closure is easier to open because the little grooves provide bigger friction.
The housing – The housing is the main pump struture that keeps interial components in the right position and sucks liquids into the actuator.
Interior components – The interior components including a variety of parts like spring, ball, piston, and/or stem that transfer the product from the container into the actuator through the dip tube.
Dip tube – The dip tube is the tube that extends into the bottom of the container. The length of the dip tube must matche the height of the bottle to make sure proper use.
